More Charlotte

Charlotte has really been a joy lately. Her personality and sense of humor is really starting to shine through. She loves her books, recently if I am sitting on the floor she runs a grabs a book and come to me and pats my lap. (that is her way of telling you this is where she wants to sit) Friday she was playing in the living room and then she walked out, quickly she ran (a toddler run) to her room got one of her favorite books, back in the living room she patted the chair. Normally she wants to get up there to get closer to something she is not supposed to have. Once I helped her up she sat looking at her book, pointing to the pictures and naming everything she recognized. She called them all "B" but I think SHE knew what she was talking about.

This week we got a new stroller. We felt that Charlotte had out grown her old one and it was time to get 'toddler' stroller. It arrived on Friday and by Saturday afternoon all Charlotte wanted to do was get shuttled around in the stroller. Saturday I was on "pick-up patrol" Just walking around the house and putting everything back in its place. I took Charlotte along for the ride. Room to room she rode gathering up little items to go back to the bathroom or kitchen. Moving shoes from the living to our closets. I listened to a book while I work and Charlotte rode around in her taxi for almost. Hooray for new strollers!!!
After all that hard work she took a little snooze.

We aren't all work at our house, we do know how to have a little fun.

I can't believe this is my first appearance and my hair is not even done.

Unknown said...: Hey! I think Charlotte looks so much like your mom in the first picture. Has anyone ever told you that? She sounds so cute, wish I knew her better. We need to do more together. I miss the friendship that we had. Those were good times, late nights, lots of dancin', lots of laughs. Wo, I just had a memory of those rope lights you bought at Halloween and how we danced around with those, do you remember? I think that was when that weirdo in that strange costume freaked us out. What's New With Charlotte

Wow..Charlotte has been busy. Her new favorite pasttime is digging holes in the yard or just taking it easy sitting on the curb. She will spend all day outside if you let her.

If you even say 'bellybutton' when Miss C is around she will point to her neck (she has a oneise on so she can't lift up her shirt) Then she will want to see yours. She has become a little obessed, we are starting to work on other body parts.

Charlotte is learning her shapes. I think circles are her favorite. She can always find a circle. We watch Baby Newton (the baby einstein about shapes) And when she see a shape she goes to her shape poster to point to a shape. So clever this girl!

So helpful lately....Charlotte loves to help me around the house. She helps me throw away her diapers, she helps pick up toys (they don't stay away very long, but she tries) she loves to put the clothes into the washing machine. And when we get new diapers she loves to put them away. Picture this: 200 diapers and Charlotte putting them away, one by one.

Charlotte has been playing with a baby doll lately. She likes to take its clothes off and rocking her. I asked if the baby needed a nap and Charlotte tried to drop her in her crib.

This one isn't new, Charlotte has been running away at first sight or mention of a diaper. She runs aways so fast that her little tummy almost leaves the rest of her behind. Why doesn't she want a clean diaper?

I swear Charlotte wakes up some day s and decides that she is going to master something that day. For example one day she seems very determined to climb without anyone's assistance. She will try to climb into the bathtub, out of the bathtub, up into the highchair, onto the couch out of her bed. She hasn't succeeded ---YET. She also has days when she does a lot of walking backwards, it is more of a waggle then a walk, but she is one focused little girl.

Charlotte has an alphabet poster on her door, we have been teaching her what the pictures are by saying "baby, car, fish, etc" and pointing the the object on the poster. We were really focusing on baby yesterday but she kept pointing to the fish. This morning I got her out of her crib and she walked right over to the poster and said something with two 'B's and pointed to the baby!!!!!!! And we thought Hazel was going to the smart one and Charlotte was going to be the muscle.

Charlotte is flicking her tongue to make a, well a flicking sound, if she isn't talking she is normally making that sound. A little creepy, I will try to get it on video.

Charlotte can now spin on command (if there is music on)

After mastering the toe tapping, she then started walking backward. Only two words...A Natural. She never even stumbles.

Charlotte is always learning to do something new. Aunt Amanda has taught her to tap her toe. It is more of a foot stomp, but she has heavy legs. Whenever she hears music you can almost see the nerves sending the signal from the brain to the leg, down to the foot.
