These past days we have been battling the Bilirubin. But yesterday for the first time her levels started to drop instead of rise so we are hopeful the war has been won, thanks to the trusty 'Billy Blanket.' The dr wanted Iz under lights starting on Monday night and the medical supply place brought us a Billy Blanket. It is a flat fiber optic light pad that slides into a blanket like sleeve that fastens around the baby's chest. With this blanket we were able to still keep her warm by putting her clothes and blankets on over it. It is a pretty neat device, sure beat watching your new baby lay in a tanning bed. Best part she didn't even mind having on, at least not that she told us, and I like to think that we are good listeners.
In the picture you can see how the lights made her glow, we were hoping that maybe by Halloween she would have developed some super power and she would be able to miraculously change into a costume. But it is Halloween afternoon and still nothing, well except the yellow skin has disappeared.
