Midnight Run

Family Photo of us running the midnight race
On friday night/Saturday morning we did a moonlight midnight 5k. It was a lot of fun Charlotte was so excited all day for the race. She got to stay up and every couple of minutes she told us we needed to go or we would be late. We got in the car about 11 pm and about five minutes she was out. I tried waking her up when I transfered her stroller. But she would have none of it she was out. Isabel was the opposite story, she went to bed around nine as usual and stayed asleep when Imoved herto her car seat and woke wide awake when she moved to her stroller. She manageed to stay up for the entire race and the car ride home. Charlotte was oush by Roland during the race and he said she did wake up with a 1/4 mile to go and got to cross the finish line a get a granola bar.
The race was a lot of fun, I can run 3 miles no problem but when you add a steep hill and a 20 pound baby in a jogging stroller it sure does change things. The first mile of the race was pretty much straight up. You you can guess...what goes up must come down, and the second mile was straight down, Isabel pulled me all the way.
On the way home we talked about how cool it was to run in the middle of the night. I am a total night person so it was good for me. Perfect actually, those races that start at 7 make me sick (i am serious, my body cannot be active inthe morning) We will definitely sign up again next year.
